General English Courses
The American Learning Center offers special ESL/EFL courses ranging from the beginner to the superior levels according to the ACTFL guidelines of instruction.
Our courses are set as follows:
- Stage A1: Beginners Levels 1 & 2
- Stage A2: Elementary Levels 3 & 4
- Stage B1: Pre-Intermediate Level 5 & 6
- Stage B1+: Intermediate Levels 7 & 8
- Stage B2: Upper-Intermediate Levels 9 & 10
- Stage C1: Advanced Levels 11 & 12
Students will practice English in social contexts and build their receptive and productive skills by practicing, listening, speaking, reading and writing throughout their attendance.
After the completion of Stage 5, students will be eligible to register for a (EEE, TOEFL, TOEIC, and IELTS) course or for the University Of Michigan Competency Examination (ECCE) and achieve remarkable scores.
Candidates are asked to attend a preparation course in order to qualify for any of the aforementioned examinations.
After the completion of the upper-intermediate, pre-advanced, and advanced levels, candidates become qualified to sit for the SAT I preparation course or for the Proficiency Examination for the University of Michigan English Language Institute (ECPE).
