Level 1 Introduction to SPSS Statistics

Understand basics of reading data, data definition, data modification, and data analysis and descriptive presentation of analytical results.

Audience

This basic course is for students with:

  • Minimal experience in using IBM SPSS Statistics
  • New to using a statistical package for data analysis
Prerequisites

You should have:

  • Experience using applications such as spreadsheets
  • Experience with IBM SPSS Statistics is not necessary, though a basic understanding of purpose and functions of the software is helpful

No statistical background is necessary.

 

Level 2 Intermediate

Review the standard methods that are used to analyze survey data, beginning with simple methods, such as cross tabulations, and moving toward the advanced, such as logistic regression.

Audience

This intermediate course is for:

  • IBM SPSS Statistics users who would like a thorough introduction to the statistical analyses and reporting that can be performed on survey data.
Prerequisites

You should have:

  • Experience with IBM SPSS Statistics or completion of Introduction to IBM SPSS Statistics course
 

Level 3 Advanced

Understand regression techniques used to explore the relationships between interval scale variables in detail.

This advanced course is for:

  • Those who want to know when to use and how to set up regression in SPSS as well as how to interpret the results.
  • SPSS users who want to improve their understanding of regression techniques.
Prerequisites

You should have:

  • Interest to know when to use and how to set up regression in SPSS as well as how to interpret the results.
  • Interest in regression techniques.
